A native of Alpena, working in the city I love because of the nice people, and the wonderful water frontage on 5 area lakes and the Thunder Bay River running through the city! The water brings birds, geese and swans that are fun to watch not to mention the swimming, boating and fishing. What an inspiration!!! The city is friendly, comfortable and it is easy to feel safe here! There are wonderful things to enjoy here as well, the Northeast Michigan Besser Museum and Village, The National Waterfront Sanctuary and Museum, Alpena Community College, the annual Michigan Brown Trout Festival, Rotary Kiddie Park, the Band Shelter on the Bay, the boat harbor for docking and fishing, Thunder Bay Arts Council, 2 wonderful live theatres and several movie houses. This is to name only a few of the many and continuous opportunities in this area.
Alpena is a wonderful place to rear children with the best of schools and other activities and arts available.
